Lovebirds: A Wedding First Look Session

The “first look session” is a relatively recent tradition of the bride and groom seeing each other  just prior to their wedding, dressed and ready for the most important day of their lives. A beautiful and poignant meeting, the “first look” extends the moment, captures it, and allows the couple the privacy to truly take the meaning of the day in together without distraction.

For their first look, Christina and Ben had a breezy early morning session by the lake, where the ceremony was to be held at 10:30am. Ben waited patiently facing the water, while Christina got ready inside the house and then made the long walk to the shore to greet him (he’d promised not to turn around too soon!). It was important to them to have this time together first and I hope you can see why. I have a ton of ceremony, portrait and (barn) reception photos from this incredible wedding to work on, as well as more from this session, but wanted to share a peek for the beautiful couple — so sweet, and as they seem to be called — true lovebirds.
